Rocky DeLuna, the star of our Children's Concert One Small Step joined our Education Team to deliver two violins to two extraordinary Palm Beach County students!
Sarah Zarazua (pictured above) is a recent graduate from U.B. Kinsey/Palmview Elementary School of the Arts' String Program, the home of our 2019 Instrumental Music Teacher of the Year Susan Ott Rodberg. Sarah has been a part of UBK's string program since kindergarten and will be attending the Bak Middle School of the Arts in the fall!
Sarah is a dedicated student who is always prepared for rehearsals. In fact, when we stopped by to deliver her new violin, she informed us that she had just finished practicing! She was voted as Orchestra President last year which had responsibilities other than just making sure her section is bowing correctly and playing the right notes. During her time at UBK, Sarah was always willing to jump in and help explain music and technique to the younger children.
Sarah received a full-size violin that she will be able to use through high school and beyond!
Alanis Lopez (pictured above), a fourth grade student at Wellington Preparatory School, was nominated by her teacher Mariusz Wojtowicz, the Violin Teacher at Wellington Preparatory School.
Alanis has been taking private lessons for five years. She is a humble and kind girl who loves music, and is passionate about her violin playing which is already at a very high level for her age. She is a hard working and disciplined student who looks forward to a long summer of playing with her friends and practicing the violin.
