Awards and Competitions

Through charitable contributions, Palm Beach Symphony presents a growing offering of competitions and awards to musicians and music educators throughout South Florida each season.

Palm Beach Symphony is dedicated to advancing the field of music in our greater community through its tri-fold mission of engaging, educating, and entertaining. In order to encourage performance excellence, nurture advanced studies in music, and promote the professional growth of local young performers with demonstrated financial need, we are excited to introduce the 1st Annual Mary Hilem Taylor Music Scholarship Competition.

Do you know a marvelous music teacher in Palm Beach County who deserves some extra recognition? Students, parents, colleagues and members of the community are invited to nominate local instrumental music teachers for the title of Palm Beach Symphony Instrumental Music Teacher of the Year.

Teachers can be nominated for such things as their outstanding instructional technique, ability to nurture talent and ability for connecting with and inspiring their students.

Instrumental Music
Teacher of the Year

Through a yearly audition process, Palm Beach Symphony awards one to three high school seniors in Palm Beach County who are planning to pursue a degree program in music with an advanced level instrument. Each student recipient will work closely with Palm Beach Symphony to identify, test, and select the ideal instrument, enabling them to further their studies and share their music with others into the future.

The award was renamed in the second year of the program in honor of Lisa Bruna, for her talents as a writer, her passion for helping others and her significant contributions to the Palm Beach Symphony.

The mission of the Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts is to recognize and reward individual performing artists and dedicated educators who enrich the quality of the performing arts in Palm Beach County, Florida. All established and emerging individuals who regularly perform or engage in performing arts education in Palm Beach County are eligible for consideration for the Prize, which will be awarded annually.

One to three winners will be selected and awarded a total amount of $10,000.
